The GuitarLab Philosophy

The guitar holds a very important place in the lives of many people. We spend years perfecting our technique, carefully choosing our instrument and paying attention to every detail of our sound. However, far too often, we forget to take care of the one instrument that will accompany us throughout our entire musical journey: our own body.

Daily practice and the constant repetition of techniques such as picado, arpeggios and rasgueados can place significant physical demands on the body. Over time, many musicians develop pain, stiffness, tendinopathies, nerve compressions, reduced mobility, weakness or fatigue, eventually accepting these limitations as an inevitable part of their musical journey.

GuitarLab was created to change that perspective.

Over the years, I have studied a range of disciplines related to health and human movement. My background in Clinical Nutrition, biomechanics and Strength & Conditioning, together with years dedicated to studying the nervous system and my own experience as a lifelong guitarist, led me to realise that a guitarist's health cannot be understood from a single perspective.

Nutrition, strength, mobility, recovery, posture, stress and the body's ability to adapt to the demands of musical practice are all factors that can influence your health, comfort and ability to play.

GuitarLab is built on the idea that playing an instrument is not purely a physical endeavour. The connection between the body, the mind and the guitar plays a fundamental role in musical expression. Developing your breathing, calmness, presence and intention while playing can help foster a deeper connection with the instrument.

GuitarLab was created to help guitarists better understand their bodies, develop personalised strategies and continue enjoying the guitar for many years to come.
